Our Team

Emily Dutton, DVM

Owner, Veterinarian

Dr. Emily Dutton is a veterinarian who established Dutton Veterinary Services in June 2017. Originally from Ohio, she graduated from The Ohio State University in 2012 before moving to her current location to work in a mixed practice.

Her passion for working with animals started at a young age when she grew up on a dairy farm in Northeast Ohio. Her family struggled financially, leading them to sell the farm in the early ’90s. This experience inspired Dr. Dutton to help other agricultural businesses thrive and give back to the community.

As a business owner, Dr. Dutton enjoys working closely with farmers and ranchers to improve their operations and ensure their animals’ health and productivity. She particularly enjoys working with livestock and horses. She holds a master’s degree in dairy nutrition and is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners, American Association of Equine Practitioners, and American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Dutton’s professional interests include production animal medicine and surgery. She has received several awards for her work in these areas, including the Veterinary Services Rural Practice Enhancement Grant from USDA APHIS in 2018.

When not working, Dr. Dutton enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, riding horses, reading, and knitting. She lives on a small farm with a variety of animals, including cows, horses, dogs, cats, chickens, and even a yak!
